FAQ

FAQ’s

We offer the most family friendly, budget friendly, flexible fruit and veg boxes we’ve ever come across. Built by a mum who wanted to feed her family the fruit and veg they wanted to eat!

You’ll love being inspired by what’s in the box each week. There’s less decisions to make about which produce and how much to select while at the supermarket.

It helps with family budgeting, as you’ll know exactly how much you’ll be spending on fruit and veggies, and what it’s going to give you. We know our fruit and veggie box will keep us going for a week or two and we use everything up just in time for the next incoming box.

At An Apple A Day, we are all about minimal waste. We use baking paper to cover cut produce and paper bags wherever possible. You won’t find any excess plastic packaging here!

You bypass the big supermarket giants and support farmers by purchasing produce that doesn’t meet the supermarkets unrealistic cosmetic standards.

Get ready to enjoy farm fresh, quality produce.

No, but you have options!

Our boxes are set boxes in a variety of sizes (Tiny, Small, Large) with Just Fruit and Just Veggie options available. We buy and pack in bulk so we can pass the savings on to you.

We offer all produce in the store as extras on the side, including fruit, veggies, herbs, aromats, pantry items and fridge and freezer items.

We always offer a couple of choices in the box for veggies that may be less widely popular (eg eggplant, celery, bok choy, Chinese broccoli, beetroot, pumpkin, fennel).

We also have a SWAPS BOX. If there’s something in the box you don’t like, just swap it for something else when you pick up. We want you to love absolutely everything in your box! If you select delivery, just let us know on check out if there’s anything you don’t want and we can swap it for you.

We occasionally sneak something into your box that you might not normally buy, such as beetroot, fennel or pomegranate. Families tell us they love experimenting with new veggies and discovering that they like them!

We have a carpark with 10 spaces at the back of the shop with ramp access into the shop. The entry to the carpark is off Bryant St.

When you arrive, just come inside, let us know your name and your order will be ready to go. If you have small children in the car, give us a call or pop your head in the door, and we can help bring your order out to the car for you.

In each box there will be between 8-12 veggies and 6-8 fruits, with more variety in the larger sized boxes.

OUR FRESH FOOD GUARANTEE

We absolutely want to make sure you are 100% happy with the quality of your produce. We take pride in the quality of our produce and have had overwhelmingly positive feedback about it.

If you’re unhappy for any reason, please contact us on the same day of purchase so we can arrange an exchange or refund for you. It is never our intention to send you home with sad, bruised or limp produce. We will be doing our absolute best to ensure we have the freshest of fresh produce available for you. As you can imagine, this is a fine juggling act, to make sure we have enough stock without wasting anything through the ups and downs of the week.

We appreciate your understanding as we are working with perishable products and there are a couple of reasons some rogue fruit and veggies might sneak into your box.

Our team personally places each item into your box. We pack up to 1000kg of produce each pack run, so occasionally some items with spots or bruises escape our watchful eye and do sneak through.

We do usually select the cheaper lines of produce. This may mean it’s the produce that isn’t the perfect, uniform shape we’ve become accustomed to seeing in the supermarkets. We might get curly capsicums, tiny avocados, fruit with marks, hail spots or bursting due to a heavy downpour of rain. Our experience over the past 5 years is that this produce is just as fresh and tasty as their perfect looking counterparts. We don’t put anything in the box that we’re not happy to put in our own fridge at home.

Premium lines of produce are usually double the price and we think the regular, cheaper lines are just fine for our family and yours. Better for our budgets too.

If, however, you get your produce home and you’re unhappy for any reason, be it bruised apples or perished produce, we will be happy to work out an exchange or refund for you. Please ensure to contact us as soon as possible after you receive your box.
